The name Maceió comes from a sugarcane mill named "Maçay" or in the Tupy Indian language, "Maçai-o-k", meaning, "what covers the swamplands". Strategically located between the Atlantic ocean and the Mundaú lake, a small but a city that is prepared for tourism. Beaches are lively; lines with thatch covered bar that provide typical live music. The reef barrier makes swimming and water sports safe. At Pajuçara beach, one can take a "jangada"(log raft) 2km out to sea, where one will find a natural swimming pool. An ideal place to meet people from all over the world. While standing in the knee-deep water, one may savor just caught fish or shrimps. Ponta Verde and Jatiuca, are surfer's favorites.

TRF o.w. Airport / Hotel - Passengers will be met at the arrival gate and will be accompanied to the hotel. Guide will assist passengers with handling of luggage at the airport, at the hotel and check-in procedures. Gratuities are included.

H/D City Tour Duration: 2:30 hrs. - Tour will pass the seafront beaches of Cruz das Almas, Jatiúca, Ponta Verde, Pajuçara, Avenida and Pontal da Barra. A stop to visit the handicraft centers at Pontal da Barra, an old fishermen village, where lacemakers offer their wares for sale. Tour will visit downtown Macei, passing by the Rei Pelé Soccer stadium, SESI gym, Trapiche district. Downtown, Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres Cathedral, Floriano Peixoto Palace and a stop at the São Gonçalo lookout for a photo. Return to the hotel passing the Iguatemi Shopping Center.

H/D Southern Coast Tour Duration: 5 hrs. Heading to the southern coast, tour will pass by the Santa Rita Island, located in the middle of two lagoons: Mundaú and Manguaba. Tour will stop for a swim at Praia do Frances, the most famous beach in the area with its palm-fringed sands. Tour will go further south to Barra de São Miguel for a swim and sunbathing. Lunch not included.

H/D Northern Coast Tour Duration: 4 - 5 hrs. - Tour leaves hotel taking the north coast of the state, visiting the beaches of Macarecica, Guaxuma, Garça Torta, Riacho Doce (location of a famous Brazilian novel written by José Lins do Rego), Pratagi (also known as mermaid beach), Ipioca, Paripueira and a final stop at Sonho Verde Restaurant for a swim and sunbathing. Lunch not included.

H/D Pajuçara's Coral Barrier Pools Tour Duration: 6 hours. - Pajuçara is a beach in front of Maceió that has a coral barrier reef forming knee-high pools when the tide is low. At this area, almost 2 km from the shore boats stop and log rafts serve seafood and soft drinks, coconut water and beer, while one basks in the sun and enjoy the pool.

H/D Schooner Cruise Tour with Lunch - (minimum of 15 PAX)Duration: 6 hrs. Tour members will be driven to Barra de São Miguel. From this point, boarding a boat, take the São Miguel river going round the Corações island to the point where the river waters meets the sea. A stop for a swim in the river and sunbathing. On return a seafood buffet-style lunch (drinks not included).

Round Trip Transfer Maceió Airport / Club Hotel Salinas do Maragogi / Maceió Airport - 140 km This is a regular service operated by the Club Hotel Salinas do Maragogi, for guests of the hotel. Passengers will be met at the arrival gate and will be accompanied to the hotel. Operator will assist passengers with handling of luggage at the airport and at the hotel. Upon departure operator will assist passengers with luggage at both checkout of the hotel and at Maceió airport. Gratuities at passenger's discretion.
